Shoebox appeal

Once again, we will be supporting the Mustard Seed shoebox appeal, with Christmas boxes going to Romania and Ukraine. All information can be found here and the latest drop off date is Friday 25th October.

Shelter Trust Tinathon

We are supporting the The Shelter Trust who will collect our donations on 3rd October. Tins can be left in the dome and suggestions include fruit, fish, meat, soup, beans etc. Thank you.

Cycling Crocodile

The Cycling Crocodile provides an escorted route to school for all children who can ride a bike without stabilisers. The meeting point is the Methodist Church on Rue De Trodez and the ride leaves there at 0815. If you would like your child to join, you must contact the office so that you can be added to the insurance and provided with a high vis vest. From next week, the Crocodile will ride Mondays and Tuesdays. This initiative is a defining feature of our school, and relies on families supporting it. Please let us know if you would like to join. Once your child is registered, you don't need to sign up for individual rides, just join in when it works for you. The rides are confirmed on the Cycling Crocodile Facebook Page:

Past Pupil Success!

UNCRC Article 15 & 29

Jack Militis left Les Landes to join Les Quennevais in 2022. Since then, he has continued to swim regularly and recently achieved incredible success. 

He qualified for nationals in 8 events and made all possible finals bar one. He PB'd in every race except one. He won Gold for 400m freestyle and 200m Backstroke (which means he is currently the fastest 13 year old in Britain for these events) and Silver in the 1500m freestyle and 800m freestyle. Jack has also been selected for the English swimming talent pathway. 

Congratulations to Jack -we are sure there will be more success ahead!

Parking

As we have several new families, a reminder of the pick up system.  Please do not drive to the school from the Ville Vautier end;  we only want cars travelling south, in one direction, with the school on your left. If you need to park, please approach from Cafe Ouen, or from Rue Du Nord or Rue de Sud. 

Also, the Cycling Crocodile will now be approaching the main school gate at 0830.  If you park in Rue Du Nord, please be mindful when opening car doors onto the lane.  Please do not park on the crossroad junction because it inhibits visibility. 

We totally understand how challenging the parking (or lack thereof) is. Generally, it clears in fifteen minutes. Please take your time to park responsibly, even if it means going round the block until a safe space becomes available.
